Last Wednesday my small group threw a bridal shower for our dearest Em! Love my gals!

birthday weekend

No, it wasn't mine, but we did get to celebrate Gina's Birthday on Thursday and Friday night! Friday night J & G came over with an amazing b'day red velvet with cream cheese frosting cake from "Nothing Bundt Cakes". If you're ever in Denver, you MUST TRY THIS CAKE!

Yesterday I had a "me day" since Drew was out doing some stuff and then golfing. I made soups from our veggies from our garden: a healthy tomato bisque from skinnytaste.com and a homemade summer squash and zucchini puree. Of course, I had plenty of zucchini left over and so I made my delectable zucchini bread. mmm...  At 6p, I had a photo shoot with Jake and Mandie...more photos to come on that.

Q: What do you look forward to most when camping?

 A: the campfire

We were fortunate enough to have a campfire last weekend while in Deckers, CO with some buddies. We had had little intention of having a fire at night because there were "fire bans" in the mountains...but, when we pulled up and saw a campfire from our neighbors, we hauled out the Swiss miss and peppermint schnapps and had a little celebration! Because, really, the main reason for camping is to get dirty and sit around a campfire telling stories!



The next morning, Pat and Becky had to head back, but Joel, Gina, Drew and I went on to go skeet shootin' (now, if that's not redneck...well...)

brief, but beautiful!

Unfortunately, Drew and I planned poorly (well, really just got our dates / times confused) and Drew had to take off a night early. Because of this, I only got to hang out with the De Vries' for a couple hours (total bummer!). We were able to head to the pool for a bit, I got to hold Jake, and chat about life for a bit before taking off to the airport with Drew.

 Although it was a short trip, we did have some time to just hang out with the family! At the In't Hout's, we got to just chill at the pool...so nice!

During our time at home, Kev and J were busy moving into their new home, so this is me helping my sis to her car as she couldn't move from her seat and was falling asleep by the pool!

 When we were in Michigan a few weeks ago, we celebrated with Steve and Kara at their wedding. What a beautiful time at Arcadia Bluffs! Congrats friends!

Jake & Mandie: 7-28-11

July 28, 2011 Jake and Mandie united in marriage!!  I've grown to love this couple (especially how they photograph!). I officially love to photograph weddings - generally the happiest day / most memorable day of someone's life.

It's especially fun when you've gotten to know a couple. I love how different these two are: Jake, the rugged, whiskey-drinkin', sweetheart, quiet guy and Mandie, the fun-loving, adorable, fashion-blogger lady. Their wedding at Lionsgate near Boulder could not have been more beautiful! Congratulations you two!!
