Katja!

So, if you know Jennifer and Rich, what is the first thing you would say about Katja? Is it, "oh my word you look just like your dad!!"? That's what I thought. Unfortunately, I lost (still have to upload) the photos with the rest of us (Rich, Jenny, Drew and me), so we are graced with the beautiful photos of Katja to start with! She has so many rolls much personality! It was really cute that they stopped by on their way to MI. Hope the trip was good!

Happy Bday Joel!

It was Joel's Bday 2 weekends ago and so we celebrated on Sunday afternoon with some yard games, a beer, and hot dogs on the grille!

just wanted to take a moment and give props to my studly husband!

1st backpacking trip of the year

The other weekend we went backpacking with Joe and Keri between Lyons and Estes Park. It was beautiful. It was literally over the mountain, through the woods, then the meadows, and we came upon a river... We had so much fun getting our sweat on! The dogs, Maupin and Willow, did too of course!

me, drew, keri, joe

the wildlflowers were gorgeous!

the dogs finally got to wade...the river was raging, so when we came upon this little pool of water, they just had to get in!

man, I would love to take my horse through on this trail (that's my future horse of course!)

i love my family!

It's true. I think that I am the most blessed (because "lucky" isn't in our vocabulary) lady in Denver! My cousins, Erin, Maria, and Layne and my sis, Jamie came to visit me last weekend! We had a wonderful, relaxing, food fun-filled,  long weekend!

Everyone came in Thursday and so we made chicken kebobs and peanut sauce and drank some Margaritas! Friday we got up, ate some blueberry pancakes and headed to Boulder. Saturday was Cinnabons, fresh fruit (because we didn't have enough sugars in our cinnamon rolls), and mimosas before we took off for our hike at Cheesman Canyon! We saw some "B-52 Bombers...Awesome!!" and a couple deer before getting to the dam and waterfall for lunch! So good to see you gals! Thanks so much for making the trip... made me feel really special!

We ate at Centro in Boulder

the gals before heading to Urban Outfitters to try on some clothes

Finally!! My sis decided to do it and got her nose pierced.
(My next post will be of her facial expressions which were priceless!)

Back in town on Friday night, I had reserved a table at North in Cherry Creek.

Yes, the freak show was in town (at least I felt like it with Maria and Layne shooting photos of me throwing the dough for our Cinnabons!)

oh my gooey!! (please notice the healthy food to the right)

Cheesman Canyon - and no they weren't B52 Bombers, but I think i had the gals fooled for a little bit!

notice Layne's cute little bump!!

I won't tell what story Maria was sharing here...

Yes, we got frozen yogurt both nights - It was Yogurt, so it was healthy!!

memorial weekend

On Memorial Weekend we and 2 other couples rented a cabin in Steamboat Springs, CO. What a beautiful place! The weather was supposed to be horrible and it ended up being a perfect weekend! We hung out, rode bicycles into town, went down the alpine slide and ate some good grub with great people.

drew and me

these Hunter boots definitely came in handy with the mud!

Maupin and Willow raged all weekend long!

We went on a mini hike to see the falls.

kitchen remodel

Tiles, check. Paint, check. Rollers, check. More paint, check.

I think my mother might just hurt me if I don't post the pictures already!!  It has been a few weeks now since we re-did some things in our kitchen / laundry room area, so below are some photos of the process and the finished product!

the kitchen floor before

our rusted rustic cabinets

the wretched wall before remodel

the new tiles...literally you could just peel and stick, then Drew laid grout in between! looks awesome

the finished product.
So, new colors on laundry room and kitchen walls, cabinets painted, backsplash over stove put up, shelves hung, tile laid.  All for $300! When you're expecting to drop $1300 at Home Depot on some new cabinets, $300 is so great for a whole renovation. Needless to say, we kept our cabinets!
