tag-team

Allison and I went to the Farmer's Market on Saturday morning. We returned to a super hot dude in my apple tree! Drew pruned about one-third of our tree with his ladder and lopper. He almost fell, so I jumped in to keep it sturdy (and take a peek up the ladder-wink!)

Maupin getting some shade. After getting hit by 5 branches, you would think she would learn her lesson!

Another project today. Raking up the twigs from yesterday and laying some mulch around the fence.

In January, Denver Waste takes christmas trees if laid by the road. They then create mulch and have "mulch giveaway weekends". We took advantage of it today and filled Drew's truck. One more thing done...plenty to go.

flies and pups

Brad came to pick up Kota who we had watched last weekend.  They're checking out Drew's "super exciting" gift from cousin John. It has something to do with fly-fishing, but I couldn't tell you what it is. I just love that the guys get a kick out of it! Had to capture the moment.

We always talk about Maupin's sad eyes...this captures it perfectly!

summer projects & my husband

There is something that has lit a fire under Drew's booty and I'm pretty sure he's sick of looking at a nasty yard. So, we've he's been working so hard to get his projects done. This weekend he took on the task of getting rid of some giant stumps in our backyard, which leads us to the next project...woodchip removal!

california: part 2

While visiting California last weekend, I got to spend an afternoon with Nicole and Katie. It was especially special because I was able to surprise Nicole and go to her Bridal Shower. Needless to say, she was shocked.

easter egg hunt

I spent Easter weekend in Redlands, CA with Nick and Julie and my 2 nieces, Eva and Sofia. It's official...they are adorable! I drove to Orange County on Saturday to hang out with Nicole, my girlfriend, who's getting married and had a bridal shower. She had no idea that I was coming and so when I pulled up to her house, and awkwardly had her brother and dad look at me like who's that girl?, she was so surpised when I walked in the door...I even got some tears! Katie was there too and so us three hung out for a couple hours a caught up on wedding chat and life stuff. (photos for that coming soon...my camera for some reason wouldn't upload it).

SB 2011 on Anna Maria Island

I feel so blessed to be surrounded by wonderful people in my life, especially my immediate family! Our trip with the De Vries' to Anna Maria Islands was so special. We were all present (including the little one inside Julie's tummy) which makes it that much more special. Extended family came to hang out for the day and enjoy the beach. It is always a joy to see our little nieces, Avery and Makenna in their element digging hole with uncle Russ and Uncle Drew, playing on the boog-e-board, picking up sea shells with Auntie Juju and mom. Also, it was a treat to see little Sam, our nephew, who is a brave, strong-willed, sweet little dude! It's so fun to see him laughing, being a little stinker, running, being mischievous because we know what's to come. It was especially good to see him because Sam is going into surgery for his third open heart in less than one month. We're praying that the doctor's hands are prepared and that little Sam's family remains strong. If you'd like to see more about Sam, visit his caring bridge site by clicking here.

Red Rocks and Friends

Mark and Katie were out a few weeks ago. They stayed with our buddies, Andy and Allison, but we got to share them alot! Saturday they all came over and I had made some appetizers before we headed d-town for a Comedy Show. Sunday they came over and we all drove up to Red Rocks Amphitheater to hang out and get a glimpse of Denver from "up above". On the way back we stopped in Morrison to eat our sack lunches and play catch...hehe. I found 10 bucks and spent it on the largest margarita (pretty sure it was meant for 8) and split it amongst the 3 gals. Oh, sunday afternoons...
Katie's always one for a funny face!
