goodbye christmas season...

Drew and I flew home for Christmas. That straight shot into G.R. is wonderful! We were busy enjoying our families for 4 days and it was great! Unfortunately, I forgot my camera, so I have no photos (sad face). Hopefully some poor photos of my tree will suffice for now.

We had no decorations up yet, so I decided to make this.

...and hello new year!

What a wonderful year 2010 has been! Drew started his own business, Automasters , we updated our home with new furniture, went to Mexico with friends, put up our first Christmas tree, had some adventures in the woods including skiing and hiking trips, met some cool people, and learned a whole lot about one another and marriage in general. I'm excited to see what 2011 will bring! Happy New Year!

...home for the holidays.

Drew and I flew home to Michigan for Christmas. We were able to catch up on some needed family time. I'm amazed by a couple things:

1. Sam, our one and a half year old nephew has had 2 open heart surgeries and a 3rd surgery to put in a shunt. It's amazing to me the work that doctors are able to do! It's maybe more amazing that this little boy is the happiest almost two year old I've seen. He just cheezes all day long. He cuddles, runs up to Uncle Drew, barely cries, and is working towards getting a vocabulary! Little miracle.
2. On a less serious note, it's amazing how many sweets one can ingest in a day. I probably ate a pound of fudge while at the in-laws. Don't worry I think I had a couple beans (wink).
3. It's quite fascinating as well that all the food I ingested came up the next day (I know quite disturbing), but there I was with the flu caught from my little rascal nieces. I had one day out of 4 where I literally was immobilized. I made it to church and back in time to visit the bathroom and then...the couch...all day...all night. At least I had my mother's touch and father's care to take good care of me. Needless to say, I got 3 movies in and still some fine conversation.
4.  My dad's farm and farm life in general is wonderful. I love that my dad's found something he loves! He started his farm not too long ago and just enjoys every minute of it. Dad and I jumped in the truck together and headed over to the farm to feed the animals. A bunch of steer, chickens, and some goats for right now. I told him that I can't imagine him NOT with a farm. It suits him so well.
5. My nephews and nieces. They brighten my day. As Drew and I were saying goodbye, Taylor says, "thanks so much for coming." Of course, Ash and Livi copied their big sister with, "yea Ev, thanks for coming." My response, "Well, thanks for having me!"

christmas season

I'm just so happy that it's Christmas time! I went over to hang out with some of my b-study friends on Wednesday and we went caroling around in the neighborhood. It was so fun.

We would run up to the door, sprint back to stand in line completely gasping for breath, and belt out a tune. Tonight Drew and I will be heading up to Vail with two friends from Michigan. Stay tuned for some narly photos! Vail got dumped on 19 inches in the past 2 days. Yikes!
