Flatirons

Last Sunday, Drew and I went on a hike in Boulder at the Flatirons. Of course, we took the dog and had to rest for 30 minutes at the top so she could catch her breath. It was beautiful!

goodbye to Suzy (the Isuzu)

One of the more difficult things Drew has had to do in sometime...say goodbye to his machine. The Isuzu's transmission blew about 3 weeks ago. Drew posted it on Craig's list yesterday and got 1 hit within 10 minutes. The guy was at our house within 40 minutes, and after frantically looking for the key and finding it in the couch, she was sold!

You will first notice the strange layout with the cluster in the middle.

"Home sweet home" rings so true. I was home for the weekend to surprise mom, although I think the surprise was possibly revealed before I got there (just a thought). I was able to do alot while I was there and see some super special people, including friends, inlaws, immediate and extended family!

backyard barbecues

This past Saturday, we celebrated Joel's 28th birthday! Gina made some bomb diggity cake that the birthday boy didn't get to enjoy until the end of the night (see last photo). We had a cornhole tourny and put up slack line(the red line Gina is tugging at). Drew, the brave one, decides to "try it out" and on his first try walking across, he falls onto a rock, scrapes up his arm and "breaks his tailbone"...still isn't sitting normal. J& G's landlords came with there kids (I am holding Colbie). The celebratory cigars and libations were also part of the night...enjoy photos!

Memorial Weekend

Yes, we had another posting drought...I apologize for my "loyal reader" ie my mother! I had no idea that people in Colorado went water skiing / tubing / have rope swings... I thought that fun was left to the true mid-westerners. I was mistaken. We went to our buddy, Ben F's lake for memorial weekend and went boating!
me then drew on the swing

the dogs totally enjoyed it too, of course!
